<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggiBEqFYFb7nxjN19FtfL-AmjuVNsaJ4YKd6eLJ4WZL9cVX8qSF4BiT0oXLeEnS1dWL5c75BhRveb9Bn0Mm5llt9mC_nuP9_pIjZY1VsSX5jLoSOltaqF0IG7tUEQY0G-SVxfzLyogQHtH/s1600/0727191551.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggiBEqFYFb7nxjN19FtfL-AmjuVNsaJ4YKd6eLJ4WZL9cVX8qSF4BiT0oXLeEnS1dWL5c75BhRveb9Bn0Mm5llt9mC_nuP9_pIjZY1VsSX5jLoSOltaqF0IG7tUEQY0G-SVxfzLyogQHtH/s320/0727191551.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
The supplies needed for the chair are inexpensive. The body of the chair is a toilet paper roll cut into the shape shown in the photo above. You will also need jute twine, tacky glue, clamps, a piece of foam core cut into a circle that rests on the chair as a seat, a fabric scrap to cover the cushion.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnttAl1zuCALgyGuqoZf-dDmH4nJ6RYHw0-Md1tReNvAa6aTyfuN656f7rtEzcTtB7srXtLTJgdlMC1sXVwTMXc7oxsLT7DBQ0j-Okqy-VIk4ya7yrlnIETHlAPBB_u5RxZkEQO1yxupT6/s1600/0727191639_HDR.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnttAl1zuCALgyGuqoZf-dDmH4nJ6RYHw0-Md1tReNvAa6aTyfuN656f7rtEzcTtB7srXtLTJgdlMC1sXVwTMXc7oxsLT7DBQ0j-Okqy-VIk4ya7yrlnIETHlAPBB_u5RxZkEQO1yxupT6/s320/0727191639_HDR.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I started gluing at the center back. Wrap the twine around the base until you get to the seat cushion part. Then you will wrap around the back to the front of the chair back. The twine needs a bit more help to stay in place until the glue sets so you will need to clamp the sides as you wrap. The inside center of the back is another area that doesn't stick as well at first.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfszGjCVXb2pDf_Iy2gFh_vvTPrjxIfPsC8vopapAFiGHmFEdNZMSue9W_W9AfmZq_ncsJkR4nITl9-OuDzmQf5p6HPNiHUjWZK2HZvUwaCeh1vWvQIsZ48Oyc3fYPSJQUqzfYgpemu2qX/s1600/0727191654_HDR.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfszGjCVXb2pDf_Iy2gFh_vvTPrjxIfPsC8vopapAFiGHmFEdNZMSue9W_W9AfmZq_ncsJkR4nITl9-OuDzmQf5p6HPNiHUjWZK2HZvUwaCeh1vWvQIsZ48Oyc3fYPSJQUqzfYgpemu2qX/s320/0727191654_HDR.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I just stopped every so often to let the glue set a bit. That is a good time to cover the foam core cushion with your fabric.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQNjJDt0k1zkvWDpMfj2NJX1BR_FHXjiyYgcH0QmyTOwObITkWMu_TfakUw25vs6NOQ1y1KeXlOSv0D_zTWlokp8uk_8cdbuIhFNFrkj0VjUOOY1XaKzTFiuh-qfP17ghY8qzouHXcXxsz/s1600/0727191654.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQNjJDt0k1zkvWDpMfj2NJX1BR_FHXjiyYgcH0QmyTOwObITkWMu_TfakUw25vs6NOQ1y1KeXlOSv0D_zTWlokp8uk_8cdbuIhFNFrkj0VjUOOY1XaKzTFiuh-qfP17ghY8qzouHXcXxsz/s320/0727191654.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Next, cut a section of twine long enough to cover the edge of the back from one side to the other. Glue this trim piece in place. A braided piece would also look nice. Now you are ready to glue the seat cushion in place. Let all the glue dry completely...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTxtytg8W44mfpxsDt2-eS6xin5z5xGbu7pJ7ynP6c0xFS1BOzestkgC0bvjGMu8DA4tC3-GUT5wg8ehzLDLCihVIVDEIjT8OK-NqLqhsPmHDgpNF6lZVL-lxse8sisXBOu2FfZHZfzDai/s1600/0727191745_HDR.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTxtytg8W44mfpxsDt2-eS6xin5z5xGbu7pJ7ynP6c0xFS1BOzestkgC0bvjGMu8DA4tC3-GUT5wg8ehzLDLCihVIVDEIjT8OK-NqLqhsPmHDgpNF6lZVL-lxse8sisXBOu2FfZHZfzDai/s320/0727191745_HDR.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>

Baby wipes are helpful to keep your fingers from getting too sticky.<br />
<br />
I think there could be a lot of fun variations - cutting the tube into a slightly different shape, using other types or colors of string, etc. If you make anything similar, I would love to see your creations.<br />
<br />

I made the lights then took pictures of them. It turns out that the ceiling fans were the easiest to make.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcJVerOLh6a9mXtvpBegXMfxcXOVmCwwiB9ZIUugNjqd5m0zBoZJ7eQSNW2761PtJisnGp9SWPWGfFiy54HASagdCAy49OKbF9a1TUVt_p5iFDonjbIBViIy-EaEt341Aw9WGnlcCmlW2v/s1600/0727191342d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcJVerOLh6a9mXtvpBegXMfxcXOVmCwwiB9ZIUugNjqd5m0zBoZJ7eQSNW2761PtJisnGp9SWPWGfFiy54HASagdCAy49OKbF9a1TUVt_p5iFDonjbIBViIy-EaEt341Aw9WGnlcCmlW2v/s320/0727191342d.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
The floor lamp also went smoothly.<br />

For now the bathroom light is straight out of the package. The slanted roof was giving me fits.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtLWDlhmCgYbqHm0iUyhF4HF0UpmufLe9nFIzLDGx7hFCV6gMZiff1LHGM86HbOsKH47mbCwrFw7OZ4ms18oERY0aC_kQgHHzXcUG7KSLc97Qk4IdgdWuHps7548ccggErI1QL9lBmgz2c/s1600/0727191342.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtLWDlhmCgYbqHm0iUyhF4HF0UpmufLe9nFIzLDGx7hFCV6gMZiff1LHGM86HbOsKH47mbCwrFw7OZ4ms18oERY0aC_kQgHHzXcUG7KSLc97Qk4IdgdWuHps7548ccggErI1QL9lBmgz2c/s320/0727191342.jpg" width="240" /></a>Jimmy's lamp was also challenging and does not look at all like I had planned but it works. The biggest issue is leaving enough room to get your fingers in there to turn the fixture on and off between the shade and the base. There is no switch. You twist the base or the rest of it if the base is glued in place.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next up are sisal chairs for the upper deck. I hope to post again tomorrow with those.</div>

Besides a bit of trim I need to add to the sunroom floor, tomorrow's big project will be turning several of these LED lights into ceiling fixtures. Ceiling fans would be perfect in the living room and master bedroom. We shall see what I come up with.Dehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14913354060868655220noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7249107157438303346.post-78612302988692861062019-07-26T08:24:00.000-04:002019-07-26T08:34:48.485-04:00Almost there!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This morning's task is to finish the sun room side - both the siding and the sunroom itself. I still have interior touches to add and the upper deck door to make but this project is nearly finished. That is always a happy and sad feeling. How do you all feel as you finish a miniature project?Dehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14913354060868655220noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7249107157438303346.post-58565880212181456092019-07-25T20:31:00.000-04:002019-07-25T20:31:54.146-04:00Finally!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The siding is one inch strips cut from textured poster board. The poster board is colored all the way through so I don't have any white edges to deal with. I started on the kitchen wall where I closed off a doorway to fit the fridge in.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5wLf39FTMZyPjWSU_MHYoRmt68k-3nbieR1nf5S1CX1bqPKK17cu1zqA3D5Qsw6usPq_NXZ1JGstGz_M-8L84oYuA18KGFGEFORlAK-7ASj5VYLloqe3WyqBEiQOEQDktLXNccvLMQceT/s1600/0725191611_HDR.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5wLf39FTMZyPjWSU_MHYoRmt68k-3nbieR1nf5S1CX1bqPKK17cu1zqA3D5Qsw6usPq_NXZ1JGstGz_M-8L84oYuA18KGFGEFORlAK-7ASj5VYLloqe3WyqBEiQOEQDktLXNccvLMQceT/s320/0725191611_HDR.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Once I had two of the poster boards cut into strips, I got started. It is going well but it's definitely time consuming.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I love how the white trim pops against the dark blue.<br />

<br />
I really should call it a night but I really want to finish the siding. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEvhsumCRmPKOsuWVq_qA61XXz57KFSOJDMTU97OpboQtcaD0DkSzPEgFBD55MV77NQ3C7GToo0ifSvORBKQo_vrUvvcJQ883XXSMtT-a7kWp85mCQoK1d_PpgdOMCh1-HlqFk9S8seg-y/s1600/0725191010.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEvhsumCRmPKOsuWVq_qA61XXz57KFSOJDMTU97OpboQtcaD0DkSzPEgFBD55MV77NQ3C7GToo0ifSvORBKQo_vrUvvcJQ883XXSMtT-a7kWp85mCQoK1d_PpgdOMCh1-HlqFk9S8seg-y/s320/0725191010.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
First up were the planters for the deck. As you can see by the one on the right, they were in desperate need of a makeover. I forgot to take a picture before painting the top. I just glued wooden stir sticks all the way around. Then I white washed them and added the rope trim.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv1K_IDYzcoihbhyphenhyphen90a_q6KRjfh9kv70gJCqF0tYwPUNidZgB5Xg4PwlNpU8ntTYj9_3XnDf_nVes_8kUw6kD7_lt5pJoGt45p3FKr9dAsGZmozpBsEAK5xSiFltWVyT6liQFdWv_GE9js/s1600/0725191135.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv1K_IDYzcoihbhyphenhyphen90a_q6KRjfh9kv70gJCqF0tYwPUNidZgB5Xg4PwlNpU8ntTYj9_3XnDf_nVes_8kUw6kD7_lt5pJoGt45p3FKr9dAsGZmozpBsEAK5xSiFltWVyT6liQFdWv_GE9js/s320/0725191135.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Here they are with the plants.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpiFcGk5IMI7ZFPiF3vVAmw2hzl5eWa1-E1vQ9NUmYrZkqQizAlSeLt6M1ieGhAlpSfku_bPJVGIcm465bG7edeROwWO57YAqAKB2FEP202VTa1v-OypFGOLg1Ai7yBDi0nWaRqLCknDhU/s1600/0725191253.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpiFcGk5IMI7ZFPiF3vVAmw2hzl5eWa1-E1vQ9NUmYrZkqQizAlSeLt6M1ieGhAlpSfku_bPJVGIcm465bG7edeROwWO57YAqAKB2FEP202VTa1v-OypFGOLg1Ai7yBDi0nWaRqLCknDhU/s320/0725191253.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I hung brass lanterns for bedside lamps in the master bedroom.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHC4JUqzoBrIxDiX9xBtI5Sa-jgErNMkOSqDDAXNBr7uUl35mkbGfq8831SvOjDed6SvUqmyH1BJ7gttqjDHH9NJKKERFKo2bm-e5AKj2OC3pt1XHHEBPmHT4ZlUabm2bXaCdUu1X8JTTr/s1600/0725191316.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHC4JUqzoBrIxDiX9xBtI5Sa-jgErNMkOSqDDAXNBr7uUl35mkbGfq8831SvOjDed6SvUqmyH1BJ7gttqjDHH9NJKKERFKo2bm-e5AKj2OC3pt1XHHEBPmHT4ZlUabm2bXaCdUu1X8JTTr/s320/0725191316.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
And I added a small pot of succulents to brighten up the fireplace.<br />
<br />
Just little touches but big improvements. I am getting ready to cut siding strips next. Not sure why I am dreading this so much but I know I will love the end result so I need to get busy.<br />
<br />

First I painted the plastic chairs white. It took multiple coats to cover the aqua. Then I made the umbrella. I had the right size dowel to fit the existing umbrella holder already on hand.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2EdIC8XdrwTrhbOr_dncZbLtRgeL9ZzjLtAwKau4_OAVNzKKSRUkdsV1HqjNK6xqPCjuaYXbgMR4J9fUGBXgg-bsOB6GijljFlC4Znc0S6tnfWOKZnzrXxpCXxn5pgBXsEkV9xFVLhGOV/s1600/0717192139.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2EdIC8XdrwTrhbOr_dncZbLtRgeL9ZzjLtAwKau4_OAVNzKKSRUkdsV1HqjNK6xqPCjuaYXbgMR4J9fUGBXgg-bsOB6GijljFlC4Znc0S6tnfWOKZnzrXxpCXxn5pgBXsEkV9xFVLhGOV/s320/0717192139.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I printed a photo of an umbrella from the top and cut it out. I made my own vented portion from the scraps. Folding and gluing took forever. But it all turned out so well.<br />

The deck has been stained pale gray. I'm thinking I need to add some dark gray over the top to look more like weathered wood. I really need to start cutting siding strips but my daughter and newest grandbaby are here enjoying our air conditioning during this crazy heatwave. I promise I will get to it eventually!Dehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14913354060868655220noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7249107157438303346.post-89858228025287442832019-07-17T11:51:00.000-04:002019-07-17T14:27:23.072-04:00I think I am happy now<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I really didn't like the living room mantel before so I did some digging and found some pieces that I like much better.<br />

The green is not really as bright as the camera made it look. The cupboard on the left is the kitchen pantry for under the stairs. The chest is the one from the loft. The room needed a splash of color. Both pieces are from Dollar Tree. Both pieces also had some structural changes to be able to fit in their spots.<br />

And, finally, the skylights over the loft got all new "glass." I need to try to change the kitchen window glass and the sunroom windows will all be new. The only original glass will be the large 3 story front window. All of the others were dirty or had paint on them. Another one of those little details which make such a huge difference.Dehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14913354060868655220noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7249107157438303346.post-81207411933652926612019-07-16T18:02:00.000-04:002019-07-16T18:02:14.445-04:00Making it pretty<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Because she has a new outfit and the living room now has a rug. I had to make her shirt with long sleeves because of the way she is constructed. It looked dumb to have her cloth covered arms showing since the tape used wasn't flesh colored. I am much happier with the bell sleeved top and skinny ankle slacks. I am waiting on our computer to get back from the repair shop so I can make artwork for the walls. It is slowly coming together. I will soon have to start cutting poster board strips for siding...Dehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14913354060868655220noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7249107157438303346.post-4350305159342678192019-07-12T21:19:00.000-04:002019-07-12T21:19:13.435-04:00I did it!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

And all it took was a straw, some toothpicks and beads, a paper fastener, nail polish, black paint, and a couple of mini grommets...and a whole lot of patience waiting for paint and glue to dry. Not my strongest attribute, lol.<br />

The master bedroom may be my favorite mini room of all the ones I've done over the years. If you've been following my blog for awhile, you may remember the tree bark my hubby found and brought to me. Some of it was used as flooring in the 50s house. I used almost all that was left in the master bedroom today.<br />

The boy's bedroom is still pretty sparse. It isn't their full time home but he needs something to do when the weather isn't cooperating. I really would like a telescope over by the window and some oversized cushions to sit on. I was going to have the dog join him in the loft and then realized there is only a ladder to get up there. Not sure a Bassett hound's short little legs could make the climb even if dogs could climb like that, lol.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I got a lot done in the living room. The window has blinds and a balance. I slipcovered the couch. I made an ottoman and I got Gramps chair up to the correct height by adding rockers. Now I am down to the detail work on the inside. I need to start cutting strips of poster board soon so I can get the siding done. As usual, once the vision became clear the project is moving along fairly quickly.</div>

The baseboard and window trim are also painted and installed. The kitchen window already had trim but there wasn't any indoor trim for the large window. I love the wall color with the natural wood floors.<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4mXPItZa4UbQXm-k5BEV1KuvCbom4RT-X-FOrzi9pgdZL1MSYNspvnvw2BZfSbAWEs9S-d1rZ9LmWEp7jxac4fcWWuigNs5jlWIXcGNOV0aujqt8f40rGnm1Onh7VDeTmfX0kBxhCnopp/s1600/0708191845a_HDR.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4mXPItZa4UbQXm-k5BEV1KuvCbom4RT-X-FOrzi9pgdZL1MSYNspvnvw2BZfSbAWEs9S-d1rZ9LmWEp7jxac4fcWWuigNs5jlWIXcGNOV0aujqt8f40rGnm1Onh7VDeTmfX0kBxhCnopp/s320/0708191845a_HDR.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I painted the ceilings, rails, and sunroom white. Then the kitchen and bathroom were painted turquoise and the living room a muted teal. Next I started laying the floor. I think I will leave the floor the natural color.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE4LTG9Sv1mMRnhojq_z9-zoPvDZdBIBsxAi82kfsKV3T1BM_wRoXst7oeZyA3vfnfptYDQ5uO4xVkVJO_NrNlvgofy4B-Gaz04exkL80LHWnq5HKEkK8TlSVYpZhhwvjZQE8rxDiLtl3h/s1600/0708191943.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE4LTG9Sv1mMRnhojq_z9-zoPvDZdBIBsxAi82kfsKV3T1BM_wRoXst7oeZyA3vfnfptYDQ5uO4xVkVJO_NrNlvgofy4B-Gaz04exkL80LHWnq5HKEkK8TlSVYpZhhwvjZQE8rxDiLtl3h/s320/0708191943.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
At this point I was ready for a break from cutting and laying floor boards.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

So I started on the bathroom. I love these glass tiles. They were a stocking stuffer from hubby one Christmas. I found the plastic ice cubes at Goodwill. They work well for glass blocks. I also extended the wall on the stairwell side for privacy.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdmnvUHaKEVhygx9xky-gbjDyT4TPHnafJ0JTC0AWCLDJ98bnTQcB9QWFABFObi331Bqk2aIut7BEOAVu1ob2bNuxjd-xLwItl3FZyjtSmSr3PcpbHUc1WMbHfpwP1ZSBZkhl5mh97LXvV/s1600/0708192111a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdmnvUHaKEVhygx9xky-gbjDyT4TPHnafJ0JTC0AWCLDJ98bnTQcB9QWFABFObi331Bqk2aIut7BEOAVu1ob2bNuxjd-xLwItl3FZyjtSmSr3PcpbHUc1WMbHfpwP1ZSBZkhl5mh97LXvV/s320/0708192111a.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Obviously the floor isn't finished but I had to do a trial run. I love how the living room looks.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1H3O8964QS4UI73nsHpfQ-ahXf7QDGl2g8dS37tjOuPkzUFmVcEmujM1vJn5K3K9xjZtcfx9aoJdOMCEXolYGjB6bZgRqASBDxE2MErO2Z6Rx6n8Fxi4sBHm0BOQb7s6kjfvehzGPpjia/s1600/0708192153.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1H3O8964QS4UI73nsHpfQ-ahXf7QDGl2g8dS37tjOuPkzUFmVcEmujM1vJn5K3K9xjZtcfx9aoJdOMCEXolYGjB6bZgRqASBDxE2MErO2Z6Rx6n8Fxi4sBHm0BOQb7s6kjfvehzGPpjia/s320/0708192153.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also had to put the fixtures in place to see how it will all look. I think it works pretty well.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB1BDqfuTmfOMuGWCsuBA5Xav09lNvHoR1IvNZ-px6QCt-tGHlE1tKgUgs4tl4jyMZID0b39cSQnu7spqhpuJZwc4RWc0k30NgjIjhrIAkCy48Sm4uX0yYythZv-kvIq1LHl0SuyoWQohY/s1600/0708192115.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB1BDqfuTmfOMuGWCsuBA5Xav09lNvHoR1IvNZ-px6QCt-tGHlE1tKgUgs4tl4jyMZID0b39cSQnu7spqhpuJZwc4RWc0k30NgjIjhrIAkCy48Sm4uX0yYythZv-kvIq1LHl0SuyoWQohY/s320/0708192115.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>

Here is the deck under construction. None of the original deck parts came with the house so I started from scratch.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-laXry8BTvc02BVuAhUdo9nWY7QLeZFpPOuaDBYUZsiV8BRwWL98DJcReI3osfBkIg__gyvb1O-1UgLRgmc-2biCKX4cZ46jgvQUkoHbLh799bak4TFar3pYEXHQ0ggP5YUJIh2wVNSXE/s1600/0706191820.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-laXry8BTvc02BVuAhUdo9nWY7QLeZFpPOuaDBYUZsiV8BRwWL98DJcReI3osfBkIg__gyvb1O-1UgLRgmc-2biCKX4cZ46jgvQUkoHbLh799bak4TFar3pYEXHQ0ggP5YUJIh2wVNSXE/s320/0706191820.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I ended up with a nice sized deck. The house will be sided with navy poster board. I think the deck will be aged gray.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDv6UUi7HS4jH-fFT-qwOazJ9_enp4Nu7TiyQGkVNJjXR8bUChUQ2i5SRmyk0Y2hnoKnhRxoT1_S5jxLTx-1w_1dkT4bSmZNfyiULQYonH2fKo_oS-INKP_YZKntyLfQvtD3d15nxDfdga/s1600/0706191911.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDv6UUi7HS4jH-fFT-qwOazJ9_enp4Nu7TiyQGkVNJjXR8bUChUQ2i5SRmyk0Y2hnoKnhRxoT1_S5jxLTx-1w_1dkT4bSmZNfyiULQYonH2fKo_oS-INKP_YZKntyLfQvtD3d15nxDfdga/s320/0706191911.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
There are no doors either. This one will be the main exterior door. I also need to make one for the balcony.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZI_MCzqv2eA7vUVg1kpwlGeEklXTf2lAHsixninECQ6z3YgYq-7qRiaP4Z6VUVdcHIIQkFj-EP4jwtZLPTFFRq41ImvftnYoYIiYCjOp6T7TeAiIiesr0sAxGm8xCpfIimb0qmtZNX9GZ/s1600/0706191922.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZI_MCzqv2eA7vUVg1kpwlGeEklXTf2lAHsixninECQ6z3YgYq-7qRiaP4Z6VUVdcHIIQkFj-EP4jwtZLPTFFRq41ImvftnYoYIiYCjOp6T7TeAiIiesr0sAxGm8xCpfIimb0qmtZNX9GZ/s320/0706191922.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I will hang it with paper hinges when I get to that stage.<br />

Mr and Mrs are enjoying some time on the deck. The chairs are also Fisher-Price. I will probably paint them white.<br />
I made a decent amount of progress today. I am getting a clearer idea of how I want this to look. I'm getting excited!Dehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14913354060868655220noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7249107157438303346.post-71426867232102642522019-07-06T15:24:00.002-04:002019-07-06T15:24:51.745-04:00A brief lull in this crazy summerAnd I am making a bit of time for minis.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hubby and I took a mini antiquing vacation last week. I found things for the mini lake house. This photo shows them post makeover. Mom, dad, son, dog, end table, sofa, and television were some of my purchases.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdP2o4nCNrT10PpuZPw3fEo4uNNvCA1kH60tccKCrDZTFzZoRihOtvXUl-twrP_8Uj9i4v-AYh4xok3pBkzKYB_7BvyV5rdOBujUpJItQDCL-wYVtQy5kmU5o1P75WehB63ObWQ84DgYLE/s1600/0629191151.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdP2o4nCNrT10PpuZPw3fEo4uNNvCA1kH60tccKCrDZTFzZoRihOtvXUl-twrP_8Uj9i4v-AYh4xok3pBkzKYB_7BvyV5rdOBujUpJItQDCL-wYVtQy5kmU5o1P75WehB63ObWQ84DgYLE/s320/0629191151.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I also found this Fisher-Price fridge. It just needed a bit of paint to fit right in.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrSmV2rH9ut7YZrDUnmL9g6hmMchcjKMx3fRTXEwONDYOjeoYMjGlmgqzOi4IBJCfPnI00v3VjYLc3qMfAgZi5WBmTy8OS341EeJpBrM0DbMNYcYUHqgqclEG9R9VJiZPI9wX1VYYPLmrk/s1600/0627192052.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrSmV2rH9ut7YZrDUnmL9g6hmMchcjKMx3fRTXEwONDYOjeoYMjGlmgqzOi4IBJCfPnI00v3VjYLc3qMfAgZi5WBmTy8OS341EeJpBrM0DbMNYcYUHqgqclEG9R9VJiZPI9wX1VYYPLmrk/s320/0627192052.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I am going to close off the exterior door in the kitchen. It is actually supposed to go to the bathroom but that part of the house is missing from my yard sale rescue.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Here are the pre makeover items. Grandpa in his chair is a cake decor piece. I painted his chair to coordinate with the couch. I already had the trunk and sofa table in my stash. The little lamp came with the house.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Today I am making a deck for the front of the house since the original is missing. More photos to come!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj86rFm_NMnuf0cIdbznaSEIzzsbBc0lIu-QjEQbnYbAVXiM4hVDsO98E8HwDZ2kXkQPl0KURfSkUjaAT_5T2YLDFf_QBBCfiP08SUTQE28vSplirbn0FZe26DBXhHN0O29_O6_i9yeFnK0/s1600/0627192105a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj86rFm_NMnuf0cIdbznaSEIzzsbBc0lIu-QjEQbnYbAVXiM4hVDsO98E8HwDZ2kXkQPl0KURfSkUjaAT_5T2YLDFf_QBBCfiP08SUTQE28vSplirbn0FZe26DBXhHN0O29_O6_i9yeFnK0/s320/0627192105a.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>

Eleanor Elizabeth arrived 3 weeks early on June 4th. School was out for the summer by the time Mom and baby came home from the hospital so I got to spend a week with my daughter, her husband, and the new baby. Lots of opportunities for cuddles.<br />

After a bit of a makeover, this is how it looks now. It isn't perfect but I am very pleased with the result. I have to figure out how to make a very small fridge now because the kitchen area is quite tiny. I will do open shelves rather than upper cabinets.<br />
