Mama must have gone shopping
Because she has a new outfit and the living room now has a rug. I had to make her shirt with long sleeves because of the way she is constructed. It looked dumb to have her cloth covered arms showing since the tape used wasn't flesh colored. I am much happier with the bell sleeved top and skinny ankle slacks. I am waiting on our computer to get back from the repair shop so I can make artwork for the walls. It is slowly coming together. I will soon have to start cutting poster board strips for siding...

I did it!
And all it took was a straw, some toothpicks and beads, a paper fastener, nail polish, black paint, and a couple of mini grommets...and a whole lot of patience waiting for paint and glue to dry. Not my strongest attribute, lol.
It even got the husband seal of approval for looking realistic.
We will assume that the tripod is adjustable for when he is looking out that window.

Just a couple of little things
I finally got around to cutting off the huge curly feet on my Dollar General fairy garden chairs. I touched them up with a bit of white nail polish and they now look in scale.
The kitchen got a couple of towels. It is the small details that make a dollhouse look more realistic. I hope to have more time this evening so stay tuned for a possible late night update, lol.

The whole day!
Yep. I took the whole day to play. I made so much progress on the lake house.
The master bedroom may be my favorite mini room of all the ones I've done over the years. If you've been following my blog for awhile, you may remember the tree bark my hubby found and brought to me. Some of it was used as flooring in the 50s house. I used almost all that was left in the master bedroom today.
The oar is one leftover from a nautical swap I participated in many years ago. The basket on the dresser is one of two I bought on a recent antiquing trip.
The kitchen is now stocked with food and dishes. The pots and pans must be in one of the cupboards.
The boy's bedroom is still pretty sparse. It isn't their full time home but he needs something to do when the weather isn't cooperating. I really would like a telescope over by the window and some oversized cushions to sit on. I was going to have the dog join him in the loft and then realized there is only a ladder to get up there. Not sure a Bassett hound's short little legs could make the climb even if dogs could climb like that, lol.

I got a lot done in the living room. The window has blinds and a balance. I slipcovered the couch. I made an ottoman and I got Gramps chair up to the correct height by adding rockers. Now I am down to the detail work on the inside. I need to start cutting strips of poster board soon so I can get the siding done. As usual, once the vision became clear the project is moving along fairly quickly.
Well that took awhile
But the lower level floor is finished and the last coat of sealer is drying. The baseboard and window trim are also painted and installed. The kitchen window already had trim but there wasn't any indoor trim for the large window. I love the wall color with the natural wood floors.
I will put the sides and "glass" in the sunroom when I am sure I don't need the open space for my hands.
Yesterday I added a rope trimmed mirror in the bathroom and made the table for the sunroom.

It's looking more like a lake house
I painted the ceilings, rails, and sunroom white. Then the kitchen and bathroom were painted turquoise and the living room a muted teal. Next I started laying the floor. I think I will leave the floor the natural color.
At this point I was ready for a break from cutting and laying floor boards.
So I started on the bathroom. I love these glass tiles. They were a stocking stuffer from hubby one Christmas. I found the plastic ice cubes at Goodwill. They work well for glass blocks. I also extended the wall on the stairwell side for privacy.
Obviously the floor isn't finished but I had to do a trial run. I love how the living room looks.
