Good morning!

I spent some more time on the blog layout this morning. I think it's easier to read and that the layout makes sense but what do you all think? Opinions welcomed please!

Sorry for the change so soon

I really liked the previous background but I learned on my daughter's blog how to change to a 3 column layout. I've wanted to be able to do that since I started blogging but didn't know how. Once I got that set up I had to find a three column background and the other one didn't have that option. I like this background almost as well and I love the three columns. Now it doesn't seem as though my blog page is three miles long, lol.

Oh, and thanks Meg for asking how to do it on your blog. :-)

After a couple of improvements...

The second installment...

Miss Skellie loves to take long bubble baths (maybe she stayed in too long this time!) She fills the tub with hot water and lots of bubbles, grabs her movie magazine and her shower pouf and she's ready to relax and exfoliate. (Maybe she just scrubbed too hard!?)

This is one of those projects that shows my slightly warped sense of humor. I'm not really "in" to scary, ghoulish Halloween things but Miss Skellie is just fun. The skeleton came in a package of four tied together to form a garland. I got the package for a dollar at the Dollar Tree. (I love that store!) These guys are harder to work with than the one I used for the doctor's office. There is less material at the joints so I couldn't just cut part way through and have the bones stay connected. I had to actually break the bones apart and reglue them into the position I wanted. Miss Skellie isn't very modest - it's a good thing there are all those bubbles!

I was just gonna give her the pink shower pouf and a pink towel but hubby didn't think that was enough to show that she was a girl. That's why she has the pink scarf on her head. I like that extra touch, though.

She looks so comfy that I might have to go take a bubble bath myself, lol.

So here's the first thing...

This Halloween hutch is outfitted for a witch. There are potions, spell books, herbs in the basket, a cauldron bubbling over, a black cat, bones in the urn on the bottom shelf, a skull, and a picture of Great Aunt Minerva for inspiration.

Hi everyone! My daughter came for a visit today so I've been enjoying some time with her. I did start on some Halloween minis for my etsy shop, though. I am not a big fan of Halloween but I know that a lot of miniaturists are. I'll have pictures of one of the items later today. The other one I started today is going to be a several day project as I have to allow for drying time.

A new doll

Meet Louise Thurgood. Her good friends call her Lou but only those who’ve known her since childhood can get away with calling her Lulu. Louise is a widow but her husband left her financially secure and with plenty to spare. She spends her days attending meetings as a board member of several philanthropic organizations and working out to keep the trim figure she had as a young woman.

Louise is my newest etsy listing. I also listed the tree stump fairy house. Louise is the most accurately scaled doll I've done so far. She seems so dainty compared to some of my others! I used Kato polymer clay again. I like the way the clay looks after baking 'cause it has a faint sheen. I do not like the little cracks that the heads have after baking, however. I did figure out a good way to fix them, though. I painted over the cracks with liquid Sculpey and rebaked and the cracks were gone. I think sculpting and blending are much more difficult, too. I guess I'll go back to my Super Sculpey. My hands are always cold and I have a hard time warming the Kato enough to work with it. I'm happy with the final results so I guess the struggles were worth the work. :-)
