A new baby

I helped a friend make a dollhouse for her twin nieces for their last birthday. Yesterday they got a new baby brother and they told Aunt T that part of their family was missing. :) So I was commissioned to fix that problem. I made the crib from various wood scraps and cocktail skewers. The baby was sculpted from polymer clay. Hopefully, the girls will be happy.

Meet the Jensons

My birthday present to myself today was taking time to make the family for my cabin. I'm pleased to introduce the Jensons - James, Rebekah and baby Emily.
Here they are all settled into the cabin. It's time for some apple pie.
James is quite proud of his little daughter and is surprisingly helpful with her.
Rebekah's work is never done. Once she cuts the pie, though, she will sit down with her family for a break.

James and Rebekah are completely hand sculpted. I used a push mold for the baby's face and she is adorable. I will keep trying to get a good photo of her. I had to make the adults on the smaller side so they would be able to sleep in their bed comfortably. Rebekah would be 5 feet tall and James would be about 5'4".

We are currently in the midst of a huge snowstorm. School was closed today and they've already closed for tomorrow. I don't mind because I kind of enjoy being snowed in. We have food and power. I'll be glad when hubby gets safely home but otherwise life is good - even if I did turn 47 today, lol.

A productive day

These are some of the wonderful items I received in a recent Small World nursery swap. I made the basket full of baby toiletries sitting on the table and an afghan not shown. I have such an amazingly talented group of mini friends!

I made this baby girl to go in the cradle I received in the swap. She's anatomically correct...and then I glued a diaper on her, lol. There are even tiny little diaper pins. She's got that blotchy skin color that newborns have, too. She's cuter than what this photo shows. I had a horrible time getting one even this good.

I also made this Victorian Father Christmas today. He's listed in my etsy shop. He has sculpted boots and his coat is lined with gold satin. I love how he turned out. Isn't it great when the idea in your head actually works out the same way?

I apologize for the quality of the photos. I'm still having to use my cellphone camera. Last Christmas I decorated a dollhouse for a friend's two young daughters. They were recently joined by a baby brother, Landon. I found a little rubber doll to use. I just had to dress him. The bassinet is made from a small plastic basket glued to pizza saver legs. I will deliver the doll and bed on Sunday (if I am well enough).

A giveaway to celebrate my 200th post

This is baby Joseph. I'm sorry I wasn't able to get a clearer photo. He's throwing his arms back and crying. There are even tiny tears on his cheek. I will put the names of everyone who posts on my blog between now and next Friday in a hat and draw out the winner one week from Saturday.

Not much happening here...

I'm off to the doctor's office (the real one, lol) in a few minutes but I thought I'd post some updates to a couple of dolls. Both are in my etsy shop but I thought Susie should have some ballet slippers and Talia's photo just wasn't clear enough before. So here they are...Susie and Talia.
