I made this bed from fancy toothpicks, regular round toothpicks and a coffee stirrer. Oh, and a piece of cardboard to form the mattress board. I used another reduced pattern. I thought I was reducing a headboard pattern but realized after the fact that it's actually the layout diagram for a wall shelf unit. It makes a very nice single headboard, though, and I modified it for the footboard. It will be a black iron bed with brass trim when it's finished.
These little guys are fun to make! The back and arms are made of regular cardboard, padded with fun foam. The base is made from foamcore and the cushions and pillows are also fun foam. The fringe is grosgrain ribbon with one edge cut off and then fringed. I used square glass beads for the feet. I won't make too much more until I actually have the house so I can see what fits but I'm glad to know that I can do this. Now the accessories may be entirely different. :-)
Here are gingerbread houses in one inch, 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch scales. The picture is bad and I'm sorry. The green is not really quite that bright. They turned out well, though, even if the photo is blurry. You'll just have to take my word for it, lol.
