February marks the third year of De-Lightful Minis and I logged on to find the 350th follower. So it's time for the giveaway. The prize is a custom made doll - the winner will give me a description of the type of doll she/he would like and I will do my best to create her/his vision.
The rules are as follows:
1. You must be a follower of this blog as of today, February 26, 2012.
2. You must leave a comment on this post. If you like, tell me your favorite project on this blog and you will get 2 entries in the drawing. If you give me a link or email me a photo of your version of one of my projects you can also get another entry.
3. The winner will be drawn on Sunday, March 18, 2012.
Good luck everyone! This prize is going to be fun!

Shopping and Additions
I don't why I never thought of it before, but when I was trying to figure out a cost effective way to provide silverware for the workshop I suddenly thought of printies. I found a clear photo of a table setting in a pattern I liked, sized it appropriately and filled a page with them. I used cardstock so I could shape the silverware after cutting it out. It's been given a coat of gloss varnish to add strength, too.
Yesterday I stopped at Dollar Tree. I found some of the red stained wooden furniture and picked up a few pieces. I also found these little sets. The desk doesn't come with a chair but the chair that comes with the table works well. Both the desk and the table come with an adhesive graphic. I've mostly removed those - that is some strong adhesive! Even Goo Gone wasn't cutting through it completely. I will show these pieces again after they are transformed. I'm not sure what I going to do with them yet but it will be fun to play. :)

Library Workshop
I'm not sure how the photos got in this order but this is the sample set for the Trash to Treasure workshop I'm doing at our local library in April. Participants will bring their own fabrics. The chairs were made from toilet paper tubes and cardboard scraps. The table is a cut down disposable cup with a cardboard top. I love the little "buttons" down the back of the chair.
Making the candle and plates will be part of the workshop, too. I will provide the wedding favor glasses. The plates are made from milk carton seals and mini wallpaper scraps. The candle is scrap paper rolled around the end of a toothpick and the holder is an eyelet.
The chair ruffle is going to be optional. The whole chair is covered with a tailored cover before adding the ruffle. I want to give some options for people who might want a sleeker style. I'm considering adding a salad made from artificial snowflake lettuce and drinking straw onion rings in a button bowl. I may just make those up to give to everyone.

Complications
Hi all. Hubby saw a pulmonary doctor yesterday and it looks there's an underlying condition causing the slow recovery. Not a good thing but we will learn to deal with it. Meanwhile, he is off work for two more weeks (it's already been three) and he is getting stir crazy. He doesn't have a lot of strength or endurance right now but he is very tired of sitting. It's gonna be a long two weeks...:-)

Hello!
Hi all. I am still here, really. :) Hubby is still battling pneumonia...and I'm battling to keep him from overdoing things. He's getting bored. Since his chest X-ray showed no improvement he's gonna be home for awhile, too. I'm not sure who this recovery time will be more difficult for - him or me, lol.
I actually had some time to work on minis this past week. Woo hoo! I can't share because they are for a swap - a shabby chic themed swap. And there are only three of us so I can make more things. A fun theme and a small group - it doesn't get much better than that. :-)
I see the follower count is just two away from giveaway time. I can't wait to see what type of doll the winner requests. Watch for the official giveaway post once we get those last two followers.

Home from the hospital
My DH came home yesterday morning. He's still got 1-2 weeks of recovery time ahead of him. He gets worn out and short of breath quite easily. Besides being chief cook and bottlewasher, I'm also the nurse. Thursday I go back to work. I'm not sure how much time I will have for minis or blogging this week. I will check out all of your blogs, though. Hope to be back to a somewhat normal schedule soon!

Update
Thanks everyone for your good wishes for hubby. We found out today that it's viral pneumonia so recuperation will probably take longer. He's still in the hospital, at least for tonight, and they are pumping him full of fluid, steroids, and antibiotics (to prevent secondary infections). We'll find out in the morning if the doctor is sending him home or keeping him another night.
I saw the doctor today and have bronchitis. Our son also has it. We started on antibiotics this evening. Our house is not a good place to visit if you want to stay healthy.
I hope you are all having a great week!
