Ok, so it's isn't a very original name but I like it, lol. I saw a fluorescent sign this afternoon and had to figure out how to make one for the diner. I used colored paper clips, bent them into shape, glued them to the black cardboard and after the glue dried I coated the paper clips with clear Gallery Glass paint to make the "tubes" shine.
Here's my soda fountain and the inspiration photo I used. Again, it was made with items I had on hand: beads, connector dowels, paper fasteners, corrugated cardboard and wood scraps.
The ketchup and mustard bottles are painted Lite-Brite pegs and the salt and pepper shakers are just two beads glued together. I painted some black glass paint in the pepper shakers and white in the salt shakers.

Is there anything I've made for the diner that someone would like to have a tutorial on? If so, please leave a comment telling me which thing you would like to see as a tutorial.

Oh...And I'd love to see any tutorials on drinks you have.... :)
Katie
Thank you, Gaye and Katie. Katie, really the only drinks I made for the diner are coffee and the milkshake but I will work on tutorials. Both are really simple -that's why I could make them, lol.
Oh De, you continue to amaze me! I love the sign! It's perfect!
Those little salt and pepper shakers are just too cute!
How did you make the milkshake? I want to make some tropical drinks for my beach house bar and the ones I've seen online are way too expensive!
Did I mention I love De's Diner?!!
I just noticed the little blue coffee cup with the steam coming out on the sign! How cute is that?!!!
I think you have done a wonderful job. I really like it
Love the neon sign and all the little accessories! You're a very resourceful woman De!

The Diner turned out great De. Lots of detail in it. The soda fountain is very original as well. Fantastic job.
De, your diner is coming along famously! I LOVE the Neon sign.
This is so cute I don't know where to start. I just love the idea of making all the parts from odd, ends and bits you have on hand :D
Thank you! The milk shake is just white dimensional paint in a glass made from a piece of an ink pen I disassembled. The piece is glued to a jewelry finding. I added a bead "cherry" and straws made from pieces cut from a colored paper clip.
Hello,
I rally like your diner and have started putting mini's together for my own. What I'm curious about is your soda fountian. Will you be adding tanks, like maybe in a cupboard under the shelf? I like your idea so far and just may try one like it myself. Your choice of colors are awesome too. Thanks for sharing this with us.
