This is another one of those crazy weeks here but I did find time to make this little gingerbread house. I needed to replace the one that the puppy ate several months ago. Apparently, she did me a favor because I like this one much better, lol.
Soooo sweet!!!! I am going to try to make one of these for my dollhouse this year- I have a template, but can I ask you- did you use that puffy paint/slick paint- would that work if I used that? The peppermint is clay, isn't it? If you have any tips for me I would be very very grateful :)
Mine is all clay, Kim, except for the mirror base. And I covered that with clay, too, so you could use any wood or metal disk for the base as long as it was safe for low temperatures in the oven. I think you could use the puffy paint, too. I just used polymer clay and added texture to the snow and trees with a needle tool. In one of my Christmas rooms, I used a tiny plastic house and painted it like a gingerbread house. I used tiny scrapbooking brads for the candy and glued them on. I don't think there's a right or wrong way to do it, thank goodness. I'd forever be doing the wrong way, lol.
I've been happily married for 33 years to my high school sweetheart and we have three great kids. All are young adults. I'm currently working part time as an instructional assistant at the local elementary school. My mini life is especially important to me because it takes me away (better than a bubble bath!) from the stresses of real life. I've been involved with mini-ing since the late 1980s with a break for about 10 years while my children were young.
My faith and my family are very important to me. I am so thankful that God blessed me with the gift of creativity!
