I can finally post photos of my fairy house!

I made this for the Small World forum "Round Thing non-contest". The only real requirement was to make a round structure. This fairy house in a tree stump started life as a small Pringles can. The base is a laminate flooring sample (I'm glad I save everything, lol.) The actual stump is 1:12 scale as you can see by the boy playing behind the tree. The fairy and her house are 1:48 scale. The house has working lights. The furniture is made from natural materials - many came from a couple of bags of potpourri.

The bark of the tree is made from paper mache.

The "round thing" project

On the Small World forum, several of us are making round structures. This was originally supposed to be a contest but it's been changed to a group project so that we can share hints and tips. I am making a quarter scale fairy house in a 1:12 scale tree stump.

I have the interior completed and today I'm working on the bark and roots of the stump. So far, I'm really happy with how it is turning out.

Once the paper mache is dry I will paint it to look like bark and then I'll finish the landscaping of the base. Most of the other projects are in 1:12 scale I think but I wanted to try something in a smaller scale since I usually only work in 1:12. All of the furnishings are made with natural items - wood, pods, bark, shells. A lot of the materials came from various pot pourri bags I had on hand.
